DRIVING LICENSE CONVERSION

Effective 01.01.2016, foreigners in Turkey who residing for more than 6 months must obtain a Turkish driver’s license (issued by Turkish Authorities) or convert their original in accordance with the Agreement between the countries.

A foreign drivers' license conversion to a Turkish equivalent is possible without the need to sit a driver's exam, however, this is is only applicable to 84 countries identified as being eligible for a direct conversion to a Turkish license.  Below you can find the list of 84 countries currently recognized for the conversion. 

The countries not mentioned in the list below, have to sit an exam and obtain Driver License according to Turkish Legislation
